Blog Party: I’ll Show You Mine…

Yesterday was not a great day.

But sometimes, the best way to get over the not great days? Laugh at them. Laugh at yourself for being kind of ridiculous over ridiculous things. Then shift your eyes awkwardly and move on and forget it all as soon as possible.

I didn’t clean much. My brain couldn’t handle it. Ever felt that way? You literally feel like if you wash even one more dish, mate one more pair of socks or get down on that floor to look for Lego’s under your couch one…more…time, you’ll lose your mind? Yep, that was me. I ran a load of laundry. I picked up or wiped up anything that was downright icky. But, the rest of it? I just consolidated it….and then ignored the messes until today.

I don’t have a proper laundry room. When we moved in, my husband and his father converted a closet underneath of our old staircase into our laundry area. It basically has enough room to house the washer and the dryer, some minor shelving and that’s it. So, anytime that we have clothes to be washed or clothes that are fresh out of the dryer, they either end up in the hallway or next room, on our dining room table. Actually, the dining room table is where a lot of things come to die/visit for a while. It’s just a convenient place to plop down stuff until we get the energy to move it, or until we can find a home for it.

Or until mom deals with it. 85% of it stays there until mom deals with it, just a FYI.

So, my dining room table may be clear for a few days in a row at best before it’s redecorated with randomness from the house. My poor table is also covered in remnants of the kids’ artwork. Paint and marker marks. This poor, one beautifully designed rustic table.

So thar she blows…in all of her cluttered glory.

How about you? Where do all of the random objects in your house come to die? Where is your clutter corner, clutter counter or clutter closet? Everybody has one. That special place where everybody chucks their crap and then forgets about it. Or at least, you want to forget about it with all of your being? Where does life happen?

If you show me yours…

I don’t know if I could participate this week. We just tackled our clutter closet this past weekend. But I betcha after a few weeks, another clutter area will grow somewhere in our house. 🙂

Good for you, though!!! It was a pretty quiet blog party this week. Either folks just didn’t want to share OR maybe I’m the only one with an icky clutter corner in my house for the time being. I hope its the latter!!
